The setting is a place where the deaf girl does not feel welcome. The theme in the video is that inside yourself, you can overcome anything and do whatever you want to do. The deaf girl has the internal conflict in the fact that she wishes she wasn’t different and could be like everyone else. The external conflict is that nobody believes in her when she wants to play the violin and everyone thinks she can’t do it except for one deaf man who plays and believes she can too. The man helped her realize that she doesn’t have to be like everybody else and that she can do it and she overcomes her conflict in the end. The irony is with the antagonist and the protagonist. The antagonist is the other girl that wants her to do bad and not play the violin and is mean to her like her classmates who beat up the deaf man and broke her violin. The protagonist is the deaf girl who just wants to do what she loves which is play music. The other girl is scared that the deaf girl will be better than he and get the spotlight, and surprisingly, that is what happens.

I chose this image because it has to do with Hamlet and its humorous about stuff going on today with the president and the war. I found it kind of funny.

I chose this one because it does show how much he is in deep character in this act and how much his true self shines through.

Despite the progressing enlightenment of the Renaissance, superstition was still rampant among Elizabethan Londoners, and a belief in such things as astrology was common. Where witches and ghosts were concerned, it was commonly accepted that they existed and the person who scoffed at them was considered foolish, or even likely to be cursed. Consider the fact that Shakespeare’s Macbeth was supposedly cursed due to the playwright’s having given away a few more of the secrets of witchcraft than the weird sisters may have approved of. For a time, productions experienced an uncanny assortment of mishaps and injuries. Even today, it is often considered bad luck for members of the cast and crew to mention the name of the production, simply referred to as the Scottish Play.

In my family, mainly me and my mom are the ghost believers. My old house was built on Indian burial grounds and our house was pretty much ran by their spirits. There would be times when me and my mom would be sleeping and we’d hear boots walking up and down the stairs and when we would look, nobody would be there. There were times when we saw shadows and faces throughout my house. We never felt alone, but over time we realized that they weren’t bad spirits and they actually took care of us believe it or not. Crazy right? Not to me and my mommy.

One place still considered haunted today is the white house. That’s right, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. is not only home to the current President of the United States, it also is the home of several formal presidents who occasionally decide to make their presences known there, despite the fact that they are dead. President Harrison is said to be heard rummaging around in the attic of the White House, looking for who knows what. President Andrew Jackson is thought to haunt his White House bedroom. And the ghost of First Lady Abigail Adams was seen floating through one of the White House hallways, as if carrying something. The most frequently sighted presidential ghost has been that of Abraham Lincoln. Eleanor Roosevelt once stated she believed she felt the presence of Lincoln watching her as she worked in the Lincoln bedroom. Also during the Roosevelt administration, a young clerk claimed to have actually seen the ghost of Lincoln sitting on a bed pulling off his boots. On another occasion, while spending a night at the White House during the Roosevelt presidency, Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands was awakened by a knock on the bedroom door. Answering it, she was confronted with the ghost of Abe Lincoln staring at her from the hallway. Calvin Coolidge’s wife reported seeing on several occasions the ghost of Lincoln standing with his hands clasped behind his back, at a window in the Oval Office, staring out in deep contemplation toward the bloody battlefields across the Potomac.

In Wizard of Oz, Dorthy lived with her parents in which she thought she didn’t want to live there anymore! When a huge tornado came through, and it took Dorthy to a far away place hints “where not in kansas anymore todo.” She follows the yellow brick road and meets a few friends along the way

The bad witch stands for the railroad industry back in the 1890’s, and the good witch stands for the banks. When the house falls on the wicked witch of the west, her shoes are a ruby color, because they don’t use gold anymore, they use silver.

Dorthy meets the Scarecrow, and he stands for the farmers back in the 1800’s. They got out of debt by making more silver coinage, but the farmers didn’t understand producing more silver coinage would reduce the value (Dorthy eventually losing her shoes). Then she meets the Tin Man, and he represents the factory workers of the north which the farmers thought were stupid for working in factories for long hours and for so little pay, becoming factory machines themselves and losing their human hearts. Then Dorthy meets the Cowardly lion, he represents the Wall street investors because of the poor economic climate of the time.

They all reached the Green City which stood for Washington and they had all they needed to get by all along.!

Researchers discover that the power of marketing can be dangerous for women who have a low opinion of their appearance and low self-esteem. The media says that having the perfect body means weighing 80 to 100 pounds. Its known that being too skinny can cause you to dislike your body more, causes a negative mood, levels of depression, and even lowers self-esteem even more. Not all is bad though because some advertise healthy ways of eating and being fit and working out. In my opinion, the world is all about being skinny and being the perfect size but also some guys like a little meat on their girls bones which is better for me. =]
